The concert, recorded on June 29, 1980, at Zurich's Hallenstadion during Led Zeppelin's final tour (and less than three months after John Bonham's death), has circulated widely on bootleg recordings ever since, and is now being re-released as a triple LP on colored vinyl.
It's the swan song of the English quartet, returning to where it all began: with "Train Kept A-Rollin'" (a cover of a Tiny Bradshaw R&B song), a track Jimmy Page was already playing back in his Yardbirds days, and with which the guitarist opened his first rehearsal with his new bandmates in a Soho basement.
The rest of the repertoire covers the entire history of Airship, from its beginnings (the guitar instrumental "White Summer"/"Black Mountain Side") to the pieces from the latest album "In Through The Out Door" ("In The Evening", "Hot Dog", "All My Love"), with ample room for classics such as "Stairway To Heaven" and "Kashmir", which is also offered as a bonus in a speed-corrected version.
